Durango was founded in 1880 as a railroad and smelting center for the high country mines. Durango is unique, set in a beautiful river valley surrounded by mountains. Today Durango is a vibrant mix of historical architecture, to its charming historic downtown along with intriguing galleries and a fabulous collection of restaurants.


Historic buildings are a prominent link to our past.  Historical home shopping in Durango can be as unique as the historical home itself.  The architectural styles in the East Third Avenue Historic district vary greatly. Victorian, Classic Cottage, Italianate, Queen Anne, Craftsman, Bungalow, Mission, are some of the styles seen in Durango.
